The SKF TWIM 15 portable induction heater is designed for maintenance work to heat bearings mounted on shafts with an interference fit. Heating the bearing causes it to expand, eliminating the need to use force during installation. Typically, a temperature difference of 90 °C (162 °F) between the bearing and shaft using TWIM 15 is sufficient to complete assembly. Additionally, TWIM 15 can be used to heat other ring-shaped metal parts, providing flexibility of use.
TWIM 15 uses electricity and has a high-temperature fiberglass plastic construction that allows for a small temperature difference between the inner and outer rings of the bearing. This helps reduce internal stress caused by excessive thermal expansion of the inner ring relative to the outer ring.
The device has a user-friendly LED control panel that requires no special training and is easy to understand. This panel is used to regulate the temperature and also indicates whether the TWIM 15 is operating correctly.
