Characteristics and uses of thrust ball bearings:
Plane thrust ball bearings are divided into unidirectional and bidirectional types. Unidirectional plane thrust ball bearings are steel balls installed between a set of raceways. The contact angle is generally 90°. They can only withstand unidirectional axial loads and are not suitable for high-speed rotation. This type of bearing can be separated into three pieces, commonly known as three-piece bearings. Both gaskets have arc-shaped deep grooves for ball rolling.
Bidirectional thrust ball bearings have an intermediate ring and two outer rings installed on the shaft. Steel balls are added between the intermediate ring and the outer rings, respectively, and can withstand bidirectional axial loads.
The outer ring plane seat of the plane thrust ball bearing has a flat seat type, a self-aligning seat type, and a seat type with a self-aligning washer. The retaining frame of unidirectional and bidirectional thrust ball bearings is generally formed by stamping steel plates.
Other special types include thrust self-aligning roller bearings, bidirectional thrust angular contact ball bearings, thrust needle roller bearings, thrust cylindrical roller bearings, etc.
